Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

KATUN-ANAN: San Isidro College Multidisciplinary Research Journal

KATUN-ANAN: San Isidro College Multidisciplinary Research Journal is committed to promoting the highest standards of academic integrity, ethical research conduct, and scholarly excellence. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are evaluated in accordance with internationally recognized ethical principles and publication standards to ensure originality, accuracy, transparency, and intellectual integrity.

Academic Integrity
Ensuring originality, credibility, and scholarly honesty in all published works.
Ethical Compliance
Adherence to ethical standards in research involving human or animal subjects.
Transparency
Maintaining fairness, accountability, and openness in publication processes.
COPE Standards
Following the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics.

Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief (EIC)

  • Ensures the timely publication of each journal issue.
  • Prevents fabrication, falsification, and unethical manipulation of data.
  • Defines the strategic direction and editorial policies of the journal.
  • Recruits and assigns qualified reviewers.
  • Oversees the manuscript evaluation and double-blind review process.
  • Makes editorial decisions regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection.
  • Coordinates revisions with authors based on reviewer recommendations.
  • Handles complaints, appeals, and ethical concerns regarding publications.
  • Represents and promotes the journal within the academic community.

Responsibilities of the Reviewers

  • Evaluate manuscripts based on originality, relevance, and scientific rigor.
  • Assess clarity, methodology, organization, and scholarly quality.
  • Provide constructive, objective, and timely feedback.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout the review process.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest before accepting review assignments.

Responsibilities of the Managing Editor

  • Coordinates editorial activities with the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Monitors the progress of editorial and publication processes.
  • Conducts preliminary manuscript screening before peer review.
  • Tracks the status of manuscripts under evaluation and revision.

Responsibilities of the Authors

  • Ensure originality and proper citation of all referenced works.
  • Avoid plagiarism, duplicate publication, and unethical research practices.
  • Disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.
  • Follow all submission and publication guidelines established by the journal.
  • Ensure manuscripts are not simultaneously submitted to another journal.

Additional Ethical Policies

Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship is based on substantial intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript preparation. All authors must approve the final version prior to publication.

Intellectual Property Rights

Authors retain authorship rights while granting publication rights to the journal through a formal copyright agreement.

Conflict of Interest

Authors and reviewers must disclose any competing interests that may affect objectivity, interpretation, or publication decisions.

Publication Malpractice

Complaints and Appeals
