KATUN-ANAN: San Isidro College Multidisciplinary Research Journal is committed to promoting the highest standards of academic integrity, ethical research conduct, and scholarly excellence. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are evaluated according to internationally recognized ethical principles and publication standards to ensure originality, transparency, accuracy, and intellectual integrity.

Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief
- Provides overall leadership and direction for the journal's editorial and scholarly activities.
- Ensures that manuscripts are evaluated fairly, objectively, and in accordance with established publication standards.
- Oversees the peer-review and editorial decision-making processes.
- Makes final editorial decisions regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of manuscripts.
- Ensures the integrity, quality, and academic credibility of the journal.
- Addresses ethical concerns, complaints, conflicts of interest, and appeals in a fair and confidential manner.
- Ensures that the journal complies with applicable ethical standards and publication policies.
- Promotes the journal within the academic and scholarly community.
Responsibilities of the Managing Editor
- Coordinates the day-to-day editorial and publication activities of the journal.
- Conducts the initial administrative and technical screening of submitted manuscripts.
- Ensures that manuscripts comply with the journal's submission guidelines and formatting requirements.
- Coordinates communication among authors, editors, reviewers, and other members of the editorial team.
- Monitors the progress of manuscripts throughout the review, revision, editing, and publication process.
- Assists the Editor-in-Chief in implementing editorial policies and decisions.
- Maintains accurate editorial records and documentation.
- Helps ensure the timely preparation and release of journal issues.
Responsibilities of Internal Editorial Board Members
- Provide scholarly and academic guidance in the development and improvement of the journal.
- Participate in the evaluation and assessment of manuscripts within their areas of expertise.
- Recommend qualified reviewers when appropriate.
- Provide informed recommendations regarding the quality, relevance, originality, and academic contribution of manuscripts.
- Participate in editorial meetings and policy discussions when requested.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the journal's editorial policies and standards.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding manuscripts, reviews, and editorial deliberations.
- Disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest.
Responsibilities of External Editorial Board Members
- Provide independent scholarly expertise and perspectives to strengthen the academic quality of the journal.
- Participate in the evaluation of manuscripts within their respective fields of specialization when requested.
- Provide objective recommendations concerning the originality, methodological rigor, relevance, and scholarly contribution of manuscripts.
- Assist in identifying emerging research areas, scholarly trends, and opportunities for academic collaboration.
- Recommend qualified peer reviewers or subject-matter experts when appropriate.
- Provide advice on maintaining internationally recognized standards of scholarly publication.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding manuscripts, reviews, and editorial discussions.
- Disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest.
Responsibilities of the Language Editor
- Reviews manuscripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and appropriate academic language.
- Ensures clarity, coherence, readability, and consistency of the manuscript's language.
- Maintains appropriate academic and professional writing standards.
- Identifies unclear or ambiguous statements that may affect the interpretation of the manuscript.
- Ensures consistency in terminology, capitalization, abbreviations, and language conventions.
- Preserves the author's intended meaning while improving linguistic quality.
- Coordinates with authors and editors when substantial language revisions require clarification.
Responsibilities of the Technical/Online Journal Editor
- Manages the technical and online publication aspects of the journal.
- Maintains the journal's online publishing platform and ensures its availability and functionality.
- Uploads, organizes, and publishes approved manuscripts and journal issues.
- Ensures the accuracy and consistency of online metadata, article information, author information, and publication details.
- Assists in implementing digital publishing standards and requirements.
- Ensures appropriate digital presentation and accessibility of published articles.
- Supports the preservation and organization of electronic journal records and publications.
- Coordinates with the editorial team regarding technical issues affecting online publication.
- Maintains appropriate security and access controls for the journal's online systems.
Responsibilities of the Layout and Publication Editor
- Prepares the final layout and visual presentation of accepted manuscripts.
- Ensures consistency in typography, spacing, headings, tables, figures, captions, and other publication elements.
- Applies the journal's prescribed publication and design standards.
- Ensures that the final published version accurately reflects the approved and edited manuscript.
- Coordinates with the Language Editor, Technical/Online Journal Editor, and Managing Editor during the production process.
- Conducts final layout and formatting checks prior to publication.
- Prepares journal issues and publication materials for online and, when applicable, print distribution.
- Ensures that publication materials maintain a professional, consistent, and scholarly appearance.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and confidentially.
- Assess the originality, relevance, methodology, validity, and scholarly quality of submitted manuscripts.
- Provide constructive, specific, and evidence-based recommendations to help improve manuscripts.
- Complete reviews within the agreed timeframe or promptly inform the editorial team if an extension is necessary.
- Identify relevant published work that has not been appropriately cited when necessary.
- Immediately disclose any conflict of interest that may affect the impartiality of the review.
- Refrain from using, sharing, or benefiting from unpublished information contained in manuscripts.
Responsibilities of Authors
- Submit original and unpublished work that is not under consideration by another publication.
- Ensure that all information, data, findings, and references presented in the manuscript are accurate.
- Avoid plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and other forms of academic misconduct.
- Provide appropriate citations and acknowledge the contributions and sources that informed the research.
- Ensure that all individuals listed as authors have made substantial intellectual contributions to the work.
- Obtain appropriate consent and ethical clearance when required for research involving human participants or other protected subjects.
- Disclose relevant conflicts of interest and funding sources.
- Cooperate with the editorial team during the review, revision, and publication process.
- Promptly notify the journal if a significant error is discovered in a submitted or published manuscript.
Additional Ethical Policies
- Authorship and Contributorship – Authorship is limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript.
- Intellectual Property Rights – Authors retain authorship rights while granting publication rights through the journal's applicable copyright or publication agreement.
- Conflict of Interest – All competing interests must be disclosed by authors, reviewers, editors, and other individuals involved in the publication process.
- Publication Malpractice – Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, manipulation of data, and other unethical conduct are strictly prohibited.
- Complaints and Appeals – Complaints and appeals are handled confidentially, fairly, and according to the journal's established editorial and ethical procedures.
- Data Sharing and Reproducibility – Authors are encouraged to support research transparency through responsible data sharing and appropriate documentation.
- Corrections and Retractions – The journal may publish corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.
